Oishii Ramen: Authentic & Flavorful Japanese Ramen in Wausau, WI

This place rocked! It is extremely hard to find solid asian style food restaurants in Wisconsin. My wife ended up getting ramen, and the son and I ended up with some more Chinese style entrees(sesame/orange chicken). We got a side of stir fry noodles, and some salted cucumber. Everything was fresh, quick, and delicious. Not anything to complain about, honestly. We’ll absolutely be back again!

(Update) my wife and I made it back to try it again, service was spot on food was savory and had the depth you wanted from Ramen. Definitely put this on places to eat for 2025, we will definitely be back very soon.———- 3 of us joined them for their opening night, I have been to enough restaurants on opening night to realize not all the kinks are worked out!! That being said this is the First Ramen restaurant in this market and the food did not disappoint at all. The broth was silky and smooth, the pork belly was perfectly cooked, and the noodles were perfectly delectable. My wife had the pork fried rice and she said it was better than any restaurant in Wausau. They have to work out some small details but give them some time and experience will take care of that. We will try back again in 2 months to compare, main focus the Ramen is worth the wait give it a shot!! It won’t disappoint. This is the best Ramen I've tasted in the states since I visited Japan. I visited Japan back in February of 2025 and I have to say, Oishii Ramen actually tastes better than some of the ramen bowls I've had over seas. The broth is flavorful, they weren't stingy with the chashu, and the toppings was on point. Although, I think they can improve on the boiled eggs. You'll know if you have been to Japan. I would categorized the overall portion of the ramen dish as average. And I wish the price was below $15 a bowl. But it's wishful thinking in this economy. All and all, I'd give it a 4/5, would recommend.

Excellent portions and very tasty. Every bite was fresh and the recommended Sexy Jalapeños were amazing. Fun food and atmosphere, we’ll be back to explore the vast menu.

Don't sleep on this place! Solid menu with a lot of variety. The tonkatsu ramen was flawless; rich, savory broth, tender and beautifully seared chashu, not overly fatty, and properly marinated ajitsuke tamago. No corners cut, easily some of the best tonkatsu ramen I've had in the entire state. I'll definitely be back and I'm looking forward to exploring the menu in the future!

The food was absolutely delicious! Both my husband and I very much enjoyed our meals! We would definitely come here again.

Service and atmosphere is great. Loved the ramen broth, but would have preferred sliced meat in it rather than shaved. Delicious flavor though. The sexy jalapeños and takoyaki was great, as were the buns. Didn't love the beef donburi. All in all, a good experience.

Stopped in in my way home from work. The staff was friendly and helpful as I had no clue what to order. I ordered to go which was a very short wait. The harumaki was delicious. Chicken katsu is good, has a firm texture. Kimchi ramen is good and spicy enough for my daughter. I had seafood ramen, less the oysters. Would go back again to try more from the menu.
